Acceptable Use Policy — ARGUS
Last updated: 2026-06-25
ARGUS is a private, subscription-based sales-research tool operated by PureTensor, Inc. ("PureTensor," "we"). It compiles publicly available, company-level business information — such as funding announcements, headquarters locations, and verbatim quotes from companies' own public job postings — and presents it, with source links, to help subscribers identify potential hardware-sales prospects. This Acceptable Use Policy is part of, and incorporated into, our Terms of Service. By accessing ARGUS you agree to it.
1. Permitted use: business prospecting only
You may use ARGUS solely for your own internal, lawful business-to-business sales and business-development research — identifying and learning about companies that may be a fit for your products or services. That is what it is for.
2. Not a consumer report — no FCRA use
ARGUS is not a consumer reporting agency, and the information it provides is not a "consumer report" or "investigative consumer report" as those terms are defined by the U.S. Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. You may not use ARGUS, or any information obtained from it, in whole or in part:
- to make, or as a factor in, any decision about a person's eligibility for credit;
- for employment purposes, including hiring, screening, promotion, or retention;
- for insurance underwriting or eligibility;
- for tenant screening, housing, or rental decisions; or
- for any other purpose covered by the FCRA or any similar state law.
ARGUS does not perform individual background checks or build profiles of individuals. Where a founder or executive is named, it is stated only as a publicly reported fact about the company.
3. No redistribution or resale
The profiles and compiled content in ARGUS are licensed for your own internal use only. You may not republish, redistribute, sell, sublicense, or otherwise make the content available to third parties, and you may not use it to build, train, or populate a competing product or dataset.
4. No scraping or automated extraction
You may not use bots, crawlers, scrapers, or any automated means to access, harvest, or extract data from ARGUS. You may not attempt to bypass or defeat the access-code gate, probe or interfere with the service's security, or share your access code or account with anyone else.
5. Lawful, respectful targeting
Use ARGUS only for legitimate business outreach. Do not use it — or any information from it — to harass, threaten, stalk, dox, defame, or otherwise unlawfully target any company or any person. Any outreach you conduct must comply with applicable anti-spam and marketing laws (including the CAN-SPAM Act) and all other applicable laws.
6. Public sources, provided as-is, no government affiliation
ARGUS draws on publicly available information and is provided for general informational purposes on an "as is" basis. We do not warrant that every detail is complete, current, or accurate, and you are responsible for independently verifying anything you rely on. ARGUS is a private commercial product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any government, military, intelligence, or law-enforcement agency.
7. Enforcement
We may suspend or terminate your access, without refund, if we reasonably believe you have violated this policy. Questions or reports of misuse: ops@puretensor.ai.
