Privacy Policy — ARGUS
Effective date: 2026-06-25. Last updated: 2026-06-25.
ARGUS is a private commercial sales-research service operated by PureTensor, Inc. ("PureTensor," "we," "us"), a Delaware corporation. (PureTensor, Inc. is a United States company and is separate from PureTensor Limited in the United Kingdom.) This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use ARGUS, how we use it, and the choices you have. ARGUS is an independent, privately operated product. It has no government affiliation and is not endorsed by or connected to any government agency.
1. The two kinds of information on ARGUS
It helps to separate two things:
- Your account information — the limited personal information we collect to give you access to ARGUS and bill you. This is the only "personal information" this policy is really about.
- Research content — the company profiles shown inside ARGUS (such as a company's name, headquarters, publicly announced funding, quotes from the company's own public job postings, and our commercial notes). This content is business information about companies, drawn only from publicly available sources. Where a founder or executive is named, it is solely as a publicly known business fact about that company. ARGUS does not compile background reports, dossiers, or profiles about individuals.
2. Account information we collect
To operate ARGUS we collect a small, standard set of information:
- Identifiers — your name, email address, and your access code.
- Billing and commercial information — your subscription status and the payment identifiers handled by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not store full payment card numbers; Stripe processes payments and is governed by its own privacy policy.
- Access logs — basic technical information such as IP address and access times, used for security and to keep the service running.
We collect this information directly from you and from Stripe. We do not collect special or sensitive categories of information, and ARGUS is not directed to children.
3. How we use it
We use your account information only to: provide and secure ARGUS; verify your access code; process your subscription and billing through Stripe; respond to your support requests; and meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
4. We do not sell your information
PureTensor does not sell your personal information, and does not share it for cross-context behavioral or targeted advertising. We do not use your account information for advertising of any kind. We share it only with service providers who help us run ARGUS (such as Stripe for payments and our hosting provider) and only as needed to deliver the service or comply with law.
5. We are not a data broker
Under California law, a "data broker" is a business that knowingly collects and sells, to third parties, the personal information of consumers with whom it has no direct relationship. PureTensor does not do this. ARGUS provides company-level business research to its own direct subscribers; the subjects of that research are companies, not consumers; any named individuals appear only as public business facts about those companies; and we do not sell personal information. PureTensor is therefore not a data broker and is not registered as one.
6. Cookies and analytics
ARGUS does not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking cookies, cross-site tracking technologies, or third-party analytics or advertising scripts. Any data stored in your browser is limited to what is strictly necessary to remember that you have entered a valid access code, so you are not asked for it on every page; this is essential to deliver the service you requested and is not used for tracking or advertising.
Like every website, ARGUS runs on web infrastructure (Amazon Web Services — Amazon S3, Amazon CloudFront, and related services) that automatically records standard technical request logs when you load a page or enter your access code. These logs may include your IP address, the date and time of the request, the page or resource requested, and basic browser information. We use them only to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service. They are not used to build a profile of you, are not sold or shared for marketing, and are retained for a limited period (currently up to 90 days) before deletion. Because we set no non-essential cookies and run no tracking, no cookie consent banner is shown.
7. Not a consumer report
ARGUS is provided for general business and sales-research purposes, on an "as is" basis, from publicly available sources. ARGUS is not a consumer report and is not provided by a consumer reporting agency. You may not use ARGUS, in whole or in part, to make decisions about any individual's eligibility for employment, credit, insurance, housing, or any other purpose covered by the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) or similar laws.
8. Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to request that we delete or correct it, to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of it (we do neither), and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To make a request, email us at ops@puretensor.ai and we will respond as required by law. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
9. How long we keep information
We keep your account information for as long as your subscription is active and for a reasonable period afterward to meet tax, accounting, and security needs, then delete or anonymize it. Research content reflects publicly available sources and is retained while we operate the service. If you are named in a company profile and would like a correction or removal, contact us at the address below.
10. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will post the updated policy on this page with a new effective date.
